We're delighted to have once again been commissioned to create custom refective t shirts and bespoke design full colour t shirts for what appears to be Britain's fastest growing running club!
Poplar Running Club has used Reflective T-Shirts for a number of years now to supply reflective tshirt designs for its #runmileswithsmiles campaign and its annual running challenge (pictured above).
With up to 100 new members in the last year it is clear that Poplar is becoming more popular than ever; you guys must be doing something right.
This years 2018 Mile Challenge has been printed on almost sixty Sapphire AWDis tshirts and look really cool. We love the finished result.
So if you are in Leicester and fancy joining a running club that's really going places, check out Poplar Running Club's website they have over 300 active members and their facebook page has about 1200 followers.
A new exhibition dedicated to the humble t-shirt opens in London this week.
The exhibition is called T-shirt: Cult, Culture, Subversion, and it will run at the Fashion and Textile Museum in Bermondsey, south London.
The t shirt exhibition will regard the evolution of the garment from being a simple midriff cover back in medieval times through to being a means of expressing our egoic preferences; political and social in the modern day.
T shirts have been a great way to start a business in the fashion world and beyond. It's simple to get started and with retail platforms such as Ebay and Amazon, sales come relatively easily too. According to the T-shirt exhibition website tshirts are a means of broadcasting who we are and who we want to be.
The t-shirt will get a place in the fashion world's spotlight this week.
And it well deserves it too.
Legend fashion designer Vivian Westwood has used the t shirt time and time again to broadcast mainstream social and political views. Think WHAM! and George Michael dancing around in a Choose Life tshirt. Here's an interview with Vivian from 2012 about her War and Peace t-Shirt...
Everyone Exhibits When They Wear A T-Shirt
T-shirts are used for branding, messaging, making statements, fun, sport,,,, the list goes on and on. In fact just about everything and anything can and has been printed on this gender-neutral / unisex garment.
In an article in The Guardian about the t shirt Exhibition in London, Curator Dennis Nothdruft is quoted as commenting “The T-shirt has taken on a role as a signifier, a statement of intent for the wearer. [...] it has developed an amazing power to communicate and to create a dialogue between the wearer and the world.”
London T-Shirt Exhibtion Opening Times
The exhibition will have 12 different sections on numerous topics. Some of which include ethics & ecology, merchanding and business advertising. One of the most interesting points for us was that the exhibition will also include a dedicated gallery that considers why the t-shirt is one of the only truly democratic fashion items.
More than 200 items will be on display so this looks like a t-shirt exhibition well worth a look.
Exhibition Dates: 9 February 2018 – 6 May 2018
Open Tuesdays to Saturdays, 11am–6pm
Thursdays until 8pm
Last admission 45 minutes before closing
After the exhibition closes in London the tshirt exhibition will relocate to Barnsley.
